Quoting Us...

Authors, publishers, booksellers, and anyone else engaged in the promotion or sale of books can quote from Raven's Reviews. Please just follow these simple rules:

1) Don't quote with malicious intent or result toward Raven's Reviews, a reviewer, an author, a book, or a publisher. Our reviews are a public service, not a tool for proving a point or disparaging someone. Our opinions are our own, and if we feel the need to be negative about a book, we request that you leave it at that.

2) Don't just copy our site. This site is full of original material, and we'd like to keep it that way. If you just copy large chunks of our site, or all the reviews of an author, then you detract from the uniqueness of this site and the hard work done by its contributors. Copyrighted means just that: don't plagarize, don't steal.

3) Quote exactly. If you are unsure about what this means, email us and we'll have a look at your quote. We'll tell you if it's exact or not. Quotes that include "..." or "[ ]" are acceptable so long as they do not distort the original meaning or tone of the review.

4) Attribute the quote correctly. Give the name of the person who wrote the review and the name of our site. Quotes from reviews by Raven only need to name the site.

5) Link to our site, either from a link page or from directly after the quote. The simplest way is to make the words Raven's Reviews the link. The code for that is: <a href="http://tatooine.fortunecity.com/leguin/405/index.html">Raven's Reviews</a> .

6) Send us a quick email telling us that you quoted us and giving the url of the page on which the quote appears. This is optional, but it helps us get an idea of who's looking at this site and lets us add a reciprocal link on our pages. Authors who have been in touch with us about reviews can skip this step.

You don't need to use a banner to quote from our site unless you want to. Just quote us exactly, put up the name of the reviewer (unless it's Raven), link to this site, and drop us an email. Thanks!
